Anyone know of a child seat that works with Recaro bucket front seat in a 993 RS?

My son is four and a half years old and, much as he admires"Daddy's noisy car", has not yet had a ride in my 993RS due to the absence of a suitable child seat. This is complicated by the RS being factory fitted with Recaro's sublime bucket seats in the front. The child seat he uses in my wife's car, a Mark 5 Golf, is in no way suitable as it is massively wide and would never fit between the rigid sides of the Recaro bucket. Has anyone any experience or knowledge of a child seat that will fit a 993RS bucket seat?

I do apologise for the rather pedestrian nature of this request.

Thanks for your time.

I would have thought that he would be getting very close on weight and height to using one of those very popular booster seats, that places like halfords sell and comprise of a plastic moulded base only with a bit of cushion/fabric on them. I use a pair for my children in the back seats ,although sometimes they prefer to remove it for a more supported effect, whilst technically illegal ,the law takes no account of cars with undersized rear seats . The point i am making is that this booster seat will also fit the front of my car which has recaro spg racing shells fitted and they are the standard narrow version ,i know the porsche factory items are closely related to the spg but are based on the wide version, as back in the day the only people who could afford to buy a carrera RS were too large in the posterior to fit in a true spg!
Specifically the ones i have are marketed by halfords themselves and were the princely sum of 9.99 each and come with either a red or blue cloth covering.

Recaro Young Sport works in the bucket seat. It's not a perfect fit, but can certainly be secured tightly enough with the seat belt. I have used it for my 3 yearold daughter in both my 964 RS and 968 CS. The only problem is that it digs into the leather on the shoulder "wings" a bit and leaves an indentation, which is not ideal. I have no doubt that there are other options that would fit better (Maxi Cosi definitely not !). Personally I was planning to go down the same route as Christian suggests using a booster seat and maybe even six point racing harness ! That ought to keep the little one in place !

Thanks for your replies. I will investigate the options. I am not keen on marking up the buckets either with the Recaro Young Sport digging in, so the booster seat sounds a better bet. I may need to feed my boy up though to get him up to booster seat weight, which goes against the lightweight RS ethos somewhat!

Best wishes
