Anyone going to the britcar 24Hr?

ORIGINAL: GlennS

I didn't realise there was a designated car club parking area!

The second of the PCGB Championship races is going to be on 10:05-10:30 on Saturday morning followed at 10:45 by the Britcar warm-up.  I am going to want to be somewhere with a view of the track for both of those.

If the plan is to meet at 10:30 then I'd suggest somewhere like Luffield Terrace, which is near the entrance for those on foot and has space to park up behind it for those with cars inside the circuit.  Otherwise, I'd suggest meeting earlier as I am not too bothered by the Monoposto and Caterham races or later at 12:25 whilst the pit lane walkabouts and lunch break are on.

I got the car club parking pass when I got the parade lap ticket. I have no idea what it actually is. For all I know it could just be another field!

I like your suggestion of Luffield terrace though. Maybe we should make it 10am so we can all coo over the racing Porsches together[;)]

10am at Luffield Terrace is fine by me. I'm all for a bit of cooing as long as it is done out of earshot of the 944, if she hears me being unfaithful I could end up walking home and it is a long way.

Round at Becketts watching the PCGB practice. Quite a few spins. The old girl was quite smug watching 3 911s exit the track in their traditional bum-first fashion. Unfortunately one 968 let the side down by spinning too. Hasn't stopped my 944 saying "see, I told you we go round corners best!" My hopes for her getting over her snit don't seem to be working out....[;)]

You have a very talkative 944!

I'll be heading down tonight so I can do the pit walk. I need to find a quick way to get my car washed. It's filthy...again!

She's a redhead... [;)]

I'll probably lurk around long enough to see some of the night qualifying before heading home.

Be warned that commentary is by Brian Jones and Robin Murphy; a bigger pair of old women never held a microphone.

Good to meet you Glenn and thanks for the lifts!

Should be down fairly early Simon - my no is below give me a call and we can meet up!

Popped a few pics on Photobucket - Friday

Mark, I didn't realise you were there or I'd have said hello. The new car is looking good and good to see you getting past the 911's in front, how does the racing compare to the CSCC stuff?

It was good meeting you too, Simon. You should have a PM with a link to some photos. The S2 enjoyed meeting you and your car, or as she put it, "that nice black, proper Porsche like me and the nice man that looks after it" [;)] Apparently the word "owner" is now banned [8|]
