Anyone going to the britcar 24Hr?

I'm going to the Silverstone 24hr at the end of September, but I haven't booked my camping yet. There is an option for car club members to camp together, so If anyone fancies having an unofficial 944 britcar 24hr meet we could book our camping as '944 register' or something like that.

Let me know if anyone fancies it!

Until the end of the month there's a special offer where you can get two weekend tickets for £30.

Camping is available from the following link

Update:
The plan is to meet at 10am on Saturday on the Luffield terrace to watch the PCGB race.

Drop me a PM if you want my mobile number.

I'm going. As with the GT races, I'm hoping (as in previous years) PCGB will come to some arrangement regards both tickets and in-field parking...

I will probably be going and I already have tickets which I got under under an earlier offer, 2 tickets and an infield pass for £20.

Hi Chris, That would be nice if the club did do that, but I'll be booking the tickets before this £30-for-two offer expires.

What are your plans for camping, Glenn?

I don't think I'll be camping. A tent at Silverstone at the beginning of October is verging a little too close to masochism for my liking. I seem to remember previous Britcar 24hrs as being freezing cold, blowing a gale, biblically wet and foggy in almost equal parts so I will probably drive up both days.

I would enjoy a meet-up with some fellow 944ers though.

If I go (and I'd like to!) it will be like Glennn, on a daily basis, for the same reason!
But meeting up would be good.

Now that we're a little bit closer to the event I thought It might be worth doing a quick roll-call for the race and plan a meeting place...I presume that Saturday before the start of the race would probably be best? Any suggestions for a good location?

Remember that there's a two-for-30 offer on at the moment (and camping is available for the brave...which apparently includes me).

Also, parade lap tickets are available for £20, which also seems to include a club parking pass. The parade lap tickets can be bought seperately if you've already bought your tickets (as I found out on Monday)

So, who else is going?

I'm going! Booked my tickets from 1st-tickets & Pistonheads and I'll also most likely be attending the PH Sunday Service at the Porsche experience centre.

No Porsche for me though, I will be in a black Passat Estate with PH sticker on the back so say hello if you see me, I'll most likely have a spare beer for fellow Porsche appreciators [:)]

£60 for camping for two!?! £95 including tickets Plus £7.90 booking fee.

They are having a laugh.

£30 for two tickets sounds like good value until you try to factor in camping.

£60 for camping is ridiculous. I was hoping to take my lad but at that price, no way.

Guys get yourself some tickets from Paul Follet. £6 ISTR for the whole weekend. I will be there during the day but kipping at my parents in Northampton.

Yeah, the camping is a bit pricey this year. It was much cheaper the last time I went a couple of years ago. To be fair though, with £6 tickets and the £60 camping, that's only £36 per person for a whole weekend of racing!

I'll be sure to track you down then [;)]

I'll be sure to pick up plenty of beer then, the joy of taking an estate!

Out of interest is your 944 a square dash? If it is do you mind if I have a poke around it as it might help answer a few questions I have with my own?

Yeah, it is a sqaure dash. I'm more than happy for you to have a poke around.[:)]

I'll PM you my mobile number so you can get in touch when you're at the track.

Excellent, mostly I just want to make sure my brakes are hooked up to the master cylinder in the correct order. I forgot to make a note of it before ripping the old lines out!
