Anyone else sad like me?

Just picked up a few bits from my OPC. Airfilter element, some bolts, brackets, gasket and a few other bits. Is it just me or do you like shiny new parts in their boxes?

Can't bring myself to throw away the Porsche box the airfilter came in either. Am I the only sad one? [:)]

+1 for new opc parts .......If I was more organised i would save all the porsche part stickers and put them in a book....or is that really sad[X(]

It makes me sad every time I get new parts from OPC and hand over my credit card, does that count? [:D]

Sad but I now what you mean [:D]

I had a little pile of boxes and old parts (oil pump drive gear, rollers, water pump, thermostat, seals, belts, top hats) and I couldn't bear to throw them away. So much work to obtain them! I think sad is sitting and watching crap on the telly, playing around with cool old cars (driving, taking to bits or both) is not sad to me! [:D]

Oh oh,

I keep my Porsche design boxes and the odd Bag [:D]

I keep all my OPC receipts and indie receipts laminated in my Porsche club service file!

Nutters.........[:D]

I'm with you Craig. Recently bought two new number plate lights - they were in individual card board boxes and when I opened the boxes I found the lamps lovingly wrapped in tissue paper [8D]

Very classy I though in an oldy-worldy kind of way and not expensive either

I love the bits you buy from the dealer,Glenn at Leicester does a really lovely tyre pressure gauge it comes in a leather embossed pouch and has retro Porsche Classic branding(looks like a vintage watch),it is 40 quid ish but SO nice.I love bits like that.
He is coming to Rutland and Bedford meet,a good bloke to know and he loves transaxle cars,he told me the other day they have a 924 booked in next week, there was a 964 having a service and valve clearance checked last time I was there.

It might sound terribly anal, but let's be honest here. We all recommend buying cars from exactly the sort of person who keeps every receipt!

Whilst it's only really relevant that you see evidence of recent work, and I always make the point that a receipt for wiper blades in 1987 isn't really going to affect the current condition, it's still a sign of a car that's been well-loved if it comes with a massive file of paperwork.

Would it be wrong to suggest that a 944 with every piece of paperwork from new would be worth at least double that of a similar car with no history and no previous MOTs? [8|]

As I am the owner of a car with every piece of paperwork from new (including both the original invoice and the appraisal of the 944 Turbo being part-exed) I'd like to think you're correct.

And I'll be thinking of that when I finish putting it back together and send off for a club insurance valuation :)

Glenn is so helpful and a top bloke (and bringing some parts to Rutland for me! [:)]) It's always a nice event visiting OPC Leicester as I get to blast down the A47 from Stamford which is good in itself, I get greeted with a cup of coffee, have a good chin-wag with Glenn about car stuff and if Mike is about and I have time, pop over to him for another cuppa and more car talk. Happy days! [:D]

Like Dave, I have a VERY comprehensive history file for my car, along with the original brochures for it. I sincerely hope it will bump the value up when it (finally!) comes to sale time ...

Imagine, if you can, what it is like living with someone who owns three 944's, plus a Supersport, never throws anything away and who's middle name is Squirrel.

He even keeps the old parts in the new boxes, plus every receipt, etc. etc. etc..........AARGH!!!

Sue

Then you should be glad; it sounds like you had the good sense to marry a sensible, level-headed, well-adjusted chap. Bravo!
