Hi guys,

I was wondering if anybody knows this car or anything about it? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3036961.htm

Do you think its pretty expensive? Is it worth this sort of money? What are your thoughts on an 'RS inspired' car?

I have a Cayman S at the moment but have started to find it a bit boring. I'm looking for something to put more of a smile on my face every time I drive it! I would need to use the car most days. I previously had an S2 Exige so I know what its like to run a far more 'compromised' car than the Cayman S.
If this car was used to do around 8K miles per year and live outside do you think it would deteriorate quickly? Am I mad thinking about a 964 as a daily driver and keeping it outside?

Any info or opinions would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ossie

Yes, I know the car. I'm sure the owner of the car however would NOT have described it as a full and accurate recreation of an RS. He certainly wouldn't have said that it drives like an original RS! As a C4 there is no way it could*.

Here is a load of information about this particular car:

Putting all that aside, I don't see there would be a problem using it as a daily driver. In particular, you can soften up the KW suspension to make it more compliant for road use. However, it is a lot of money for what it is (you'll see in the thread above what the owner sold it to the dealer for [;)]).

*assuming the writer of the ad wasn't referring to the ultra rare Carrera 4 RS.

Reading through the work on this car I noticed that a red film treatment was used to reduce the pinkiness of the rear lights. Anyone done this or know the technique?

Looks good- think I may try this myself. I replaced the central reflector with a brand new one but even so it still looks pink to me :)
