Moderator
It's coming up to deadline time again (end of month) and I need to start March's article.

Any one fancy writing a ditty (something techy would be great), got any nice photo's, know of events, etc.

If so, please send to 911@porscheclubgb.com

Hi phil
i thought it was about time i registered my st with you,and thanks for the xmas card.I will send the form off today, with some money for a t shirt and sticker.
When i get time i can do a short article on a dizzy conversion that i am currently having done in the states by jerry woods. Its to get rid of the 4 sets of points and convert to a hall effect,on the 12 spark dizzy. As i want to compete in the car,i need the engine to be on song reliably all the time,it can also be converted back at any time.
Regards

A photo of my st in its italian livery.

Had the st for nearly a year now,had been looking for a proper ex factory car for some 4 or 5 years now.Its weighing around the 900 kilo mark and 270bhp 2.5ltr.The car is about as accurate as it gets, for a nice lightweight racer,it was sympatheticaly restored over 2 years in 1990 in southern italy, where the car had been all its life. The amazing thing is ,all the tub and panels are still original. The history of the car has 3 detailed photo albums of the restoration, and the good part of leaving the dents in the floor pan etc there,as they all tell the story of the car.

It is indeed ex adrians car.I got fed up ,of looking at crap, non authentic cars & remanufactured historics,Its a scary market place out there. In the past i have travelled to switzerland, austria, germany, spain, france, looking at historic racing Porsches, and restrained my self from going to the usa to look,as i am not a big fan of american restorations.

We are going to do a article for 911 world at some point soon with our local 911 world journalist.

I intend to finsh the race livery of this spring. We are hoping to race it in the 06 classisc lemans,We were also hoping to do the competative side of the tour auto this year, but unable to make the time off as it clashes with our uk raceing dates.
This car won its class in the last targ florio in 73 and 12th overall, and came in 17th overall in the 72 targa.Endless other
hillclimbs,monza 6hrs etc.

Vic i am sure you had a laugh at my expense,i will keep my fan belts to my self next time! looking forward to the chinese with you all!( i have emailed the club to change my non memebership)not sure when they will change it.

The gt2 is a rhd car that i have owned for some 7 years now.Its still only done 10,000 honest miles.

Thanks for the update....i'm also very happy to hear you'll coninue to race it....

I get so p11ssed off when I hear about these fantastic cars sitting in someones private museum.

Looking forward to reading about it in 911 World

I met Paul and his car over the weekend (at the workers conference).

Once I realised what it was (yes numb nuts here thought it was a repro[:)]) I was a little distracted - no numb - to say the least.

Lovely fella and fabulous car . . . . lets hope he makes it to Classic Le Mans 06 (hopefully it will be at Brands Hatch in August).

Shame I didn't have my camera.

Phil

(BTW it's getting to that time of month again, looking for 'Car of the Month' and any other stuff).

Hi
thanks for the kind words, you are forgiven for the word reppppppppppplica,i cant even say or spell the word properly.
lots of people asked what is it!Not a problem,as i am happy if people dont know what it is,it means that car theifs /vandals etc might leave the car alone and think its just any oh early 911!
Nice to meet you and your low miler!

Sorry won't be with you at the Cotswold Rally will be in Belgium on the 356 International.
Will be at the Autojumble at Husborne Crawley.

Just a thought about a thread for the magazine, my 73 2.4S at 78000+ kilometers is on its third time round the clock on its original engine, (I know, it sounds like it as well) any other high mileage early cars out there? What are they like, noisy, smelly, leaky, and with reasonable oil pressure, and they still go like hell! and sound wonderful!
Any advance on 170,000miles?
