Its called 'Scumrun' now; which is crap, I think. I watched the 2007 DVD the other day and I noticed that the logo was (randomly) pixelated out and the event was retrospectively called 'Scumrun'.

It turns out, after a bit of digging, that the Gumball fellow spat his dummy out and demanded a name change. Ironically Ed had told us that the name was approved and even suggested that there was a connection between the two events. After the farce of their event in 2007 Im not sure that anyone would want to pass themselves off as anything to do with Gumball though - and I believe that any claim to the name is tenuous at best.

Jon , i cant help thinking you're not taking my prospective purchase seriously !

You lead the caption competition in my book :)

By the way: Ed has the audacity to demand £250 each with a minimum of two entries per team, for the Scumball3000 rally now. It really isnt worth £500, witht the cost of a car, prep, fuel etc and the grif of raising sponsorship in difficult times.

My avatar is taken from photograph from the 2007 event, in Stuttgart; when it only cost £135 each - in 2008 it cost £150 each. If youve seen the DVD, we were the first of four cars which left the site before the main group, and were subjected to an intensive 'scrutiny', far more so than the later cars, which was filmed. The seized cars talked about in the programme were immediately behind us.
