Another Turbo SE on the Bay anyone near Yeovil ?

Yes I know it could be another E-Bay pile but it is a bridge spoiler model and I would like one EVEN though its Black.

If there is anyone near Yeovil ( preferably not the seller :p ) who would be willing to check the car out for his fellow forum folk please P.M me as I am seriously looking at the mo.

Cheers

Err power fold mirrors?
If its a G then I don;t think it would have come with a bridge spoiler. Certainly mine is a retro fit (and the bits cost a fortune!) and is the same age.

Am I imagining it or is it a sunroofless car?

Another option if your willing to pay a bit is getting someone like Marque21 to check it out. Tim said to me before they can travel around and checkout cars for ppl.

1990 G turbo SEs came through with Bridge from the factory, mine is black with Linen.
Hope it's a nice one.

Yes I could pay an 'expert' every time I'm interested in a car but I was working on the fact that I would consider it an absolute pleasure to go and look at one for a fellow enthusiast and that I know
even little old me can tell a good one from a rotter in ten minutes flat [;)] We are only talking an initial view and I'm not saying that I wouldnt go before buying. sadly I know from bitter experience that I could travel a long way at great expense because of a 'very' misleading ad.

I'm not dissing anyones professional expertise but come on most of us who really enjoy 944's can easily look at the sills/wings maybe shine a torch at the fuel lines etc etc and cast an eye over some receipts then use common sense. If anyone can find time to look at it I'd certainly be greatful and very interested in the result.

On a similar note , another car marque that I am involved with and have been for several years , their forum actually keep a list of folk willing to do such an initial reckie , which seems a very good idea. You could even use a google map layer. If anyone needs a 944 reckied near to Stanstead or Enfield put me down. I love looking a them anyway who wouldn't !

Regards

Mas

Correctamundo ! All MY90 turbo's had bridge spoiler, mine also came with CS alloys before they started putting turbo D90's on them at some point. Best of both worlds IMO.

I'm fairly sure the spoiler is called a hoop spoiler & my MY89 came with that & also forged CS alloys ( Much light & better than common D90's [;)] )

Although when i bought mine the hoop spoiler was held on with about 3 wood screws & the paint was cracking, needless to say that was quickly removed & a bridge spoiler was fitted.

There is a 3" difference in height between hoop & bridge spoilers !!! [:D]

Distinct lack of info in the ad [:(]

And none too many photos either. And none of them are any larger than 'quite small'.

Someone local must be able to drop by and assuage Mas's curiosity, surely?

The hoop spoiler is the bridge spoiler I thought. It has a hole in the middle, like a hoop, and is also like a bridge across the top? I've only known the other spoiler as plane old rubber spoiler. MY89's came with rubber spoiler and CS alloys, maybe your bridge was a DIY job which would explain your fixings?

Yeah Stuart thats what i initially thought, but there's a difference in the hoop & bridge, check the the links below.

Interesting but worth noting that these aren't genuine items. I suppose they could make anything that resembles a (genuine) bridge spoiler and sell it as such with slight variations to offer more customer choice.

The CS wheels were an option on MY 1990 I am pretty sure of that..., I have a spare set and have fitted them to my 1990 turbo with bridge spoiler as later fitted to the 968 on occasion but don't think they suit a late car to be honest... Sorry to disagree with you on that![:D]
,what is a HOOP spoiler.....?
88 or 89 cars had a rubber spoiler...They look ok with CS wheels!

That's my old car! parked on my drive! [][]

And it's a genuine bridge spoiler - not anything to do with whatever he's selling

Ok. It's a bridge spoiler or rubber spoiler. Bridge is on MY90 turbo onwards and I believe on MY91/92 S2's. I have heard of the bridge being referred to as hoop but clearly by traders such as the chap herewith listed! What he calls a hoop closely resembles a bridge. what he calls a bridge resembles nothing ever sent out of Stuttgart on a 944!

BTW Mark, CS wheels look the best on all turbo's from '88 turbo s on!! D90's look sooooo S2 [:D]

Each to their own!

Umm.... I have CS wheels on my S2 - I suspect some folk just think they are D90s on first glance!
