Another ebay performance cracker!!!

"works by telling the ECU that the intake air is cold thus allowing the ignition to be advanced"!!!

So no danger of pre-ignition aka pinking then.....[8|]

Why would anyone even think of risking it - £2.99 is why, I suppose[8|][:D]

my thoughts exactly!!! as if spending a couple of quid is better than buying a proper chip or exhaust etc [:D]

Let's not knock them chaps.

Both of those adverts clearly stated that the item came with a free cable tie (heat resistant in the case of the second one), and that makes them worthwhile in anyone's book, I'm sure you will agree.

Oli.

I suppose that its amusing that the vendor doesnt even understand how what he is selling actually works. By fooling the ECU into thinking that the inlet charge is colder, and therefore more dense, it will cause the mixture to be enrichened.

This is relatively safe and in some cases/situations it may work to a small degree, but as stated, its a 5p resistor!

It says "a Brand New product to give your vehicle up to +20 BHP"

"up to" 20bhp, so thats any figure between 0 and 20BHP. You cant even sue them for false advertising.

There was a ferrite fuel pipe attachment being targetted at 968 drivers on ebay a short while back similar to this one, the proud boast of the advert, in huge letters was NOW WITH BIGGER MAGNET. How I chuckled, wish I'd posted the link, it was a cracker. The feedback was brilliant too, someone complained that the vendor was making money on the postage, now given that this 'winner' got it for a penny (plus £10 P&P) I can't see it takes a genius to see that anything else was the case! I love ebay [:D]
