Amble to Alnwick

[:)]Yesterday morning at Wetherby Services seems an age ago, after a packed weekend drive and stop-over in Alnwick. Many thanks to Ian & Sharon (again) for organising a most enjoyable event, which went seamlessly. Even the weather played ball. Thanks to everyone for your company: we certainly had a great time. Special congratualtions to Ian for his vertical limbo dancing in the Serpent Garden, in the Castle Gardens! Oh, not to forget Graham - a winner again!

Thanks, Paul and Jane! We're pleased that you and, we think, everyone else, enjoyed themselves.

As organisers, it's such a relief when things go (mostly) well (the quiz I think could have been a bit more professional - I'll recommend my assistant for some additional training in this area!). But the hotel was good, the weather fantastic and the Alnwick Garden really enjoyable. We really enjoyed the drive up - some of the roads were as good as they looked on the map and the scenery was spectacular. The return was probably too ambitious in terms of distance we planned to cover so we cut it short and headed back towards Darlington on the A68 and then down the A1(M) to arrive home about 5.30.

All in all a great weekend (and we managed to see most of the Grand Prix). Thanks to you and everyone else for their company.

We have to agree with Paul & Jane, many thanks to Ian & Sharon, an excellent weekend, just managed to get back in time for them lining up on the F1 grid. looking forward to the next outing

An excellent weekend with superb roads, good food and wine, and of course good company. I assume we bought that small garage in the middle of nowhere between us all.

Did you get the tyres sorted Graham????

Yes got the tyres soughted on the Saturday morning before we set off. The only ones available at such short notice were the pirelli`s so had them fitted and everything seems ok so far, didn`t feel any real difference with the car, thankyou very much for your advise.

Glad you got sorted Graham, you will be fine with the P Zeros fitted during the winter months, better in fact than the Cups. But, you will have to get the Michilins back on for next spring or the only part of my car you will see on a track, will be its big fat rump [;)]
