Am I being realistic?

Hi
I am looking for a 997 gen 2, 4s with less than 30k miles. Budget is 40k but to pay this, it needs to have had a major service done and a years warranty. Does this seem to be the right price point or am I going to have to go 2s? Seems like the 4s is more expensive.

I've previously had 996's so I'm a bit rusty on the 997

Advise or possible buys would be appreciated
Thanks

Most of the C4S gen 2 I have looked at are in the mid to high 40,s so I think you will struggle to find a good one for your price- better off looking for a C2 I would suggest

Cheers

You'll struggle to find a 2S for sub 40K too - except there is this one I saw.........[;)]

Perceived wisdom is that the "2S" is a better drive anyway than the 4. As Dyllan says the other option is to look at the C2/4 and not "S" version - there are a few on PH sub £40k with PDK if that's what you are looking for.

Thanks for these. The reason I asked on the 4s gen2 for 40k as there is one http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201301214995000/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/50000/price-from/40000/model/911/make/porsche/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/1/postcode/rh11pr/quicksearch/true/radius/1500?logcode=p

I was thinking a private sale might get one under 40k but now having looked I think £45k as suggested here is more realistic. I've dropped expectation to a carrera 4 for under £40k now and getting a short list together.

Thanks for your help

What was wrong with the Cameron cars one ?? Looked good value

unless i was looking at the wrong one-the 37k miles silver C4S pdk is on at cameron for nearly £44k-not 40k-has it come down in price from their website?? -on autotrader its just under £40k ??dont quite understand that -looks like 2 different prices for the same car-one clearly rather better value than the other [:D]

I presumed the Cameron one to be an error. I think Nottingham OPC also had a mis described car.

For proper Gen 2 C4S they start at £50k at OPC and there's a little to be saved by going non-OPC. Some of the private sales seem to be dealer prices.

If you don't want PDK then you stand a better chance of a deal. 911 Virgin have a few nice manual ones, but they are not selling. If you forego the rear wiper you increase your chances of finding a car too.
