Alzen ... Converted Cup For Sale

+1

Has the parcel shelf shell number been completely removed or just filled? You can check this by running your fingers over the stamped area on the underside of the shelf via the engine bay.

The search for the "original" numbers is good, just to know his father .... however was adopted by Alzen and has full Alzen Cup DNA is there without a doubt. Not built on anything but original Cup .... not a clubbie, RS or indeed RSR but MOO1. Anything beyond this is nice to have in the file. I will get around to further investigation when time permits .......

As well as deck lid, bonnet and shell stampings dont forget the doors - stamped near the top about 1/3 of the way along - assuming they are std items - cant remember from the last time I was in it with Matt.....

I paid for a stand in! ;O)

So there's no shell number in the rear parcel shelf??? That would be a real shame if you couldn't identify it as being a real cup shell or even run the number back with the factory to prove it was actually raced as a cup car.

It's also pretty odd... as I was pretty certain that I saw an "Alzen" once and the shell number was clearly visible but maybe I'm confusing it with another car, but again German regulations are probably as mucked up as ours!

As for cup cars being in a bunker with Nazi Gold.... you never know! I have had 2 emails "off the board" since I mentioned it on here... seems I'm not alone in hearing the story that they are out there in German Private Collections.

Sorry Des, but I'm afraid I still think that the story with this car is that it was rebuilt from a crashed shell that they took off the racecar when it was quicker to reshell than repair during the season or a spare shell at the end of the season as my man told me. You've stated on here it's had a frontal repair, so the former seems likely, which does mean it could have a cool race history if you can trace the shell number to the original VIN. But I'm sure the cup car is still out there, with the original VIN and Wagonpass accompanying it. I can't see them having just thrown all that in the bin at the end of the season.

Still remains an exceedingly cool car though!

Cheers
Rick

PS As a thought, if I were you I'd be watching all the videos from the seasons Alzen ran these cars and see if you can see one of them have a shunt that would cause same type of damage as yours has had??? That would be cool evidence in your favour.

Tink I have covered this, the repair at the front is not major, so dont get too excited, again there is no question as to the origin as a maritime blue Cup Car verified by many in the know, not a clubbie[;)], RS or indeed C2 ...

If the originals are out there as you say and mine a reshell, then they must have new guts with a pretty walloped chassis ...

As I say an original Jurgen Alzen Motorsport build No 1 .... as it left Alzen except the rear wing .... so original mate!

Interesting 964 Cup for sale on Mobile.de

Never seen this before... ('91)M series engine and chassis numbers and '92 dated Wagenpass. is this common? Also has the later introduced RS style Matter cage base plates. when were they first introduced... 1992?

Anorak explanations welcome[8|]

Well ... the sister car is for sale. This was converted at the same time ... left Alzen narrow body with normally aspirated engine but painted yellow. The owner converted the car to wide body and put in the 3,8 engine and raced the car. It has a wagenpass and factory chassis number .... buy it someone!

Link???..

Is it more or less £££ than the hexagon 3.8RS ???

Matching pair in your collection narrow and wide bodied???

http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-insera...red=ALSO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&export=ALSO_EXPORT

Now this one has a wagonpass AND a Porsche VIN... so it's deffo one of the 2? While it's deffo one of the 3? Or am I totally confused?!

3 Alzens built, 2 of them from the cups according to Des, 3rd one from? And this is one of the cups? And one of the Alzens? But its not an Alzen chassis number, but it is one of the 2 cups?

I'm still being told the Cup that won that year (and it was Alzen who won right or am I totally befuddled again??) is in a collection in Germany... so don't see how any of this lines up anymore.

Suggest easiest solution is that you take car to Hexagon and see if they'll pay you double then ask double that for it. ;-)

I'm going for a lie down.

Chill Rick take a relaxing bath with oils and Herbs of Paradise in that beautiful antiseptic village of Bankers and dream of bonuses that will land a multitude of 2,7RS Lighweights ....... [;)]

Tks....Seen it now link has been posted Des,,, [8D]

Hasn't this one been for sale for a while..or is that another Alzen car??? [:D]

No this is fresh on the market, as far as I know there were three cars made by Alzen , two built in 1992 from Cups and one 1993.

With all these Alzen cars produced and huge increase in postings on all things Alzen, would it make sense for the club setting up a separate register and forum to accommodate the marque? [:D]
