All serviced and ready for Le Mans...

While you lot were having fun over at Spa, my car has been cooped up in a workshop in Chertsey...

I've just got home from picking my car up from GT-One. It's had a full-works 24,000 mile service including sparks plugs, valve clearances and lots of Mobil One. I asked Craig and Peter to go through the car with a fine-toothed comb and report back everything that might need attention.

The list of 'jobs to do' isn't really that long and most things are quite minor. Strangely I'm actually pleased there are some things to plan as ongoing projects over the next year or so.

The first job to do is to replace the brake hoses with aeroquip braided hoses - any recommendations for make/suppliers?

Also took the precaution of replacing the alternator belt (and provide a spare) and I got Craig to supply a spare DME relay to keep in the car.

Thanks Mel for the recommendation (I'm sure you'll get a discount next time[&:] - or perhaps a free cup of coffee[;)]) - although with a journey from Cheltenham to Chertsey involving three changes of train I'm pleased it's just a once every now and then visit.

Just time it better next time Rich -I do regular trips to and from Cheltenham.

Rich...are you staying with PCGB.

If so we'll see you there......We'll be in the kin great Dodge truck. Going down on the Thurs AM and back Mon

Lee,
No we're not with the club. We did camp with PCGB a few years ago - unfortunately Team Gulp Racing has too many non-porsches nowadays (Morgan, Aston Martin, TVR, RenaultSport, & various bikes), and our antics kept a lot of people awake all night. [;)] We're just around the corner in Beausejour campsite.

We'll keep a look out for a big Dodge lorry though - we're travelling into France on Wednesday night, over-nighting in Dunkerque, then driving down on Thursday morning and back Monday evening after our usual hotel stay in Sees. I'll look out for you.

What colour is the Dodge?
Make sure you parp the horn if you see a white RS with Des's handwriting on the back.

If you don't mind I'll check with you next time and catch a lift.

It's a small world, I think you called Craig just as I was collecting my car?

.

Correct!! I was in again yesterday collecting a car.

Rich...It's a Ram SRT 10 so the horn doesn't parp, just kinda peeps.

Most of the guys with us are not owners either but doesn't seem to matter.

Followed your car down there the last couple of years...both with different owners.....I'll miss that noise but not my scorched front bumper.[:)]

Maybe we can meet up for a karting showdown

Watch Out for Les Flics!!!! Over 180 KPH Will impound your car take your license and fine you Euro 750 with a further court appearance and similar fine in France........Have a good trip and take it easy.....they are out in Force this year! Can't blame them with the amount of Brits raging throught their towns villages and cities with impunity...

Thanks Des - stickers arrived safely, and they'll be positioned alongside the side indicators as I think is this years trend.

I also have various other stickers/graphics to apply, but we're taking the car to a wedding next weekend, and Helen won't allow me to put 'silly stickers' on till we get back on Sunday.

I'll post pictures of the "10th Anniversary of Team Gulp Racing" & "15th Anniversary of the 964 RS" 964 RS next Sunday.

Lee,
How will I recognise you and you and your brethren around Le mans in the Dodge pick-up?

Will you be the ones with mighty puuuurdy mouths?
