Alignment check - west coast

Can anyone reccomend somewhere in the Glasgow area to do an alignment check and re-set (on a 968). It's not for me, but someone asked my advice, and I'm afraid I have no idea about life beyond Bathgate [:D]

Thanks

JH

The obvious one would be the OPC in Bearsden. Not sure of the cost. But prob not get much change from £150 i would think.

Although bearsden don't have the equipment themselves as far as I'm aware. Brian (kitchens) recently got his done somewhere in Glasgow, I'm sure he'll be along once he sobers up from this weekend to let you know.

I think the OPC do have the equipment. I was quoted more than £300 for mine[&:].

WTF, thats just a joke. I assume you told them where to stick that quote.

Slim Boy,
The guys at OPC Glasgow are nice bunch of guys and I think they are very professional but as they are OPC they are expensive. I do not think I would use them for alignment - probably go down South for that. I have to find time to go to 9M.

Good to know Brian, I have some suspension work I am doing on the car over the winter, so I want to get the geometry checked out when it come out of hiding.

Brian - whereabouts, phone number and how much if you don't mind me asking - I seem to have uneven tyre wear, so need to get mine seen to.

I think it cost me £56 this time but I rember it was about £120 the first time I went ,I suppose it depends on how much adjustment and time is involved.Like the Car ...Keep it on the black stuff The place is next to Ibrox stadium.. Just round from the Subway station in Copeland Rd

Greig You should go for the big Gordon alignment set up --- buy a nice red GT3 that drives well and then get every single parameter changed, then wonder why it handles like sh**e.
Then spend enormous ammounts of time and money at specialists all round the UK to get the thing back to where it was [:D][:D][:D]

Merry Christmas all

glenvarigill are about £150 for 4 wheel alignment,, if they can get the equipment to work,,, price was for my mates 996,,,,
they spent about three hours on my 993 (no charge mind you) and could not get it to register on the system,,,, but they had been having problems with the system,,, had fun though watching the grease monkeys bump a 993 up the kerb,,, I'm sure that cant be good for them,,,,,,,,,

cairnlea did it for about £120,,, car handled like a bag of shi**,,,, took it back and they had another go,, much better that time,, but they managed to damage my rear alloy and the tyre which needed replaced..... g.morrison,, paid for wheel and tyre as he had taken it to cairnlea,, its a bit of a dingy place,,, and I would'nt be keen to go back there,,,,but george uses them all the time ....

tracking needed setting as car had been lowered,,, (new springs)

and I used to think kwik-fit were bad,,,,

havent heard any reports of the guy in shotts, but boydy has used someone over in dumfermline.......and he says they are good......

cheers

I don't think Peter has the equipment for the 4 wheel alignment but I could be wrong. I am dropping my car off there today so will find out.

I also recall someone in Sighthill Edinburgh, but don't have any details

Cheers
