Has anyone managed to remove the factory alarm from their car.I have a factory alarm in my 89 S2 with the door lock switches etc. and a meta imobiliser. I wanted to remove the lot and replace with a more modern thatcham approved alarm. Also I have extra wiring inside my doors which I think must be for a ten speaker set up.Was this wiring always fitted regardless?
 
Cant speak to the alarm but when I was investigating radio wiring I found the wiring and plugs for both the standard 4 speaker head unit and the equalizer type 10 speaker unit. I believe the wiring harness had become standard by that time for all cars as it was cheaper and faster to manufacture and install one harness than different ones based on options.
