Alarm - hesitant operation

My 99 Boxster' s alarm operates most of the time pretty well okay, not exactly instant. But today it again took a fair bit of ' pointing and pressing' to deactivate it and it was again hesitant when I locked it up I have puit a new battery in the key and also the car battery is pretty well charged up having just driven 50 plus miles.

Where exactly is the receiver in the car?

Does where you aim it have any significance?

Anybody else have this annoyance and if so what was the cure?

Mike.

Mike,

I believe the receiver is where the rear view mirror is mounted but I stand to be corrected.

This is my first post so here goes.....

John,

Just about.

The Boxster has now covered the grand total of 13,000 miles in nearly 5 years. I can recommend a trickle charger. The wife wants me to trade it in for an MPV! I want a new GT3!

Sadly, I will not be going on the Cotswold Rally as it clashes with the Sussex Region meet at Bentley near Lewes.

I am still up for organising a run in Kent - Tun Wells/Tenterden/Rye area if anyone is interested?

simon the GT3 wouldn' t be any good on those roads, you need a ceyene.I don' t think kent/sussex councils know what a good road service looks like.when they do finally re-tarmac a road the water(or gas or electric)board comes along and digs a nice 2 foot square hole every few feet.!!![][]

sorry i forgot i no longer live in t.wells,
