Aggression on public roads.

I have to say that i have noticed recently, ( as in the past 9 months or so ) that quite often when i pass a car I get the flashing light treatment. This happens mainly at night and I do have to admit that when i do pass something on the road I tend to do so as quickly as feasable.
I will be the first to admit that I tend to drive reasionably quickly but never dangerously , when I take the 993 out for a spin its not with the intention of doing 40mph!! , I never pass unless it is perfectly safe to do so. etc..
I have a number of theories behind this.
a) its dark and a 911's lights tend to ''bob up and down'' on the rod. ( perhaps they think I'm flashing ? )
b) they presume its some boy racer, its becoming very politically incorrect to drive fast, or anything that looks fast these days.
c) the 993TT roars like a banshee and has been known to spit blue flame when at full tilt. !![:)]

Has anyone had similar experiences ????

Definately (c) [;)] Not all of us have that rare luxury....

I tend to notice a lot of cars flash at me when I'm coming towards them... I'm presuming its the xenon lights and that they are expressing their frustration at having to drive by candlelight !

As has been mentioned in the paper recently, the press here are overloading everyone with images of death on our roads and drink driving causing carnage and people dying from drug related deaths etc etc and I believe it's making everyone in the country go a little nuts. We are turning into a "tut tut" society. We need to hear happy stories instead of constant drip-feed of death and maiming.
I don't flash at drivers unless they are pushing me into the hard shoulder and sometimes I just don't bother cos maybe they just miscalculated and the last thing they need is to be blinded.
Kev.

I would be careful if I were you ! You could spend 2 days in court and spend over 1000 euro defending a statement like that.
I've been that soldier !
There are some crazy people out there that will make up the most interesting "stories" and are only too glad to relay these "stories" to the boys in blue and the court. Not a nice position to be in.
Happily in my case the judge could see thst the "storyteller" wasn't 100%. Still cost me 2 days work plus 2 days solicitors fees. (one good reason not to fit a sports exhaust to the cab)

Guerin.............. I'll have you know, I have never exceeded the speed limit on a public road in my life[:D]
