I thought there might be some interest in this vid..?
Looks to me like this chap has saved this Porsche from being broken up for spares and shown a fair degree of skill in the process..
Seems as ever time changes much, as at one time many years back I remember a then new ish 930 turbo turning up at my local Porsche dealership for it`s first service and the service manager on spotting an aftermarket exhaust fitted to it... Told his guys to get it off the ramp, park it outside and ask the customer to come and collect it, as this garage only works on Porsches and not modified vehicles...Or words to that effect.

I’m not sure that I’d pay £18.5k for that car George considering the amount of damage … just about every panel has been damaged! Like him I’ve no idea what happened, but it must have hit something very hard to break the front wheel like that. 😲

I’m surprised that he didn’t appreciate the importance of the bracket beneath the engine to which the two suspension braces attach. It should have been a no-brainier to replace it prior to an alignment check, but he’s made a decent stab at the job though considering it’s his first Porsche repair.

Brilliant video. Bought my current 981 from OPC Solihull a year ago. Great experience. I too have been in that inspection bay under my current car.

Thank you George, enjoyed the video - I had heard of Mat but had not viewed his work before, I believe that he is quite `famous` for such projects

A positive attitude by Porsche Solihull, good to see ... and mirrors my own experience of my local OPC reception - maintenance staff

Like Brian, I have also had the same `free` tour in the local inspection bay, I believe it is open to all at most any convenient time
