ABS-PCM light problems still not sorted

Still having problems with this damn fault, first, ABS and PCM always lit on dash, took car to independent Porsche garage, fitted 2 new ABS sensors and a sensor on pump, picked car up, ABS and PCM dash lights out, drove back home, 15mins, suddenly ABS PCM light came back on, turned off engine, after starting, ABS and PCM lights off, drove around for a while, then lights came back on, this happens all the time, booked back in garage, they fitted a new brake light switch, picked up car, all lights off, drove home, 15 mins later ABS and PCM lights back on, turn engine off and restart no lights, but they come back on after a short drive. rang garage, they say might be a wiring problem? They did fix something to get the lights off but still not sorted.. what to do next???? any help??


 
I suffered similar warning light warnings a while back, it turned out to be the MAF sensor playing, I never got to the bottom of why the warning lights came on when the MAF sensor failed. It proved to be an easy fix, 5 mins to change the sensor and a system rest to clear the fault and no more issues.

The two above replies are worth a shout.
Also this is the most common issue that I get emails about from members and they seems to becoming more regular as our cars age. Intermittent faults can be a real pain to resolve at times.
The PSM takes its info from the abs sensors, but Intermittent PSM lights can be caused by a number of issues some of them totally unrelated to the PSM if that makes sense MAF etc.
Some of the common causes are, a faulty brake light switch or MAF, faulty wheel speed sensor / lead / or a faulty or corroded abs reluctor ring, with age rust can also build up on the rings and they can also crack giving incorrect speed signals, a faulty ABS pump (which can be tested and repaired) will cause this issue.

hey guys, thx so much for your replies, I will check tyres, have a look at MAF etc, from your posts, also read the posts as you suggested am taking it to an auto electrics garage on Tuesday, the guy seems to be knowlegable on the phone, I will let him know also your comments..
 
Hello Steve, I had the exact some problem, it was due to the switch behind the brake pedal, i think you said you had replaced it but i would double check that connection.

Thx Martin, the switch was replaced, I decided to take it to an auto electrician this time as my Porsche garage so far as not fixed the fault, here is his report, he thinks it is the ABS pump that is faulty..
error codes; 4460 Pressure sensor Signal implausible ( this was replaced)
4340 Brake switch A circuit no signal Abnormal,
all the other sensors, ie axle position sensors normal

I checked them out after a search online before your post and they have quoted £185.00 plus vat for repair, £240.00 delivered, they are in Tiverton, had to send a whatsup photo of fault report and they got back too me with price..
tried to find someone similar " up north" lol, no luck so far
ps at least in the north we see plenty of horse and carts on the road..tee hee..
 
No, Problem still there, decided to wait, ABS pump has to be sent away and checked, I have decided to drive the car for a while and enjoy it.
