There is a variety of car shows organised at this time of year. I don't do that many nowadays having parted with my beloved 992.1 Turbo S, but I occasionally turn up at local shows and one of the more common questions I get asked is, "What's the difference between understeer and oversteer".
It's never a time to get too technical in those circumstances, so I normally reply:-
Understeer - If you hit the wall with the front of the car - its understeer.
Oversteer - If you smash the rear end up against the wall - its oversteer.
Seems to give the questioners the answer they need and they usually thoughtfully go on their way.
