In a straight line (with no road cambers) you can floor it from say 30mph to 130mph - on the Milbrook straight - with no hands on the steering wheel! Same for braking. The only way you could lose control is if you were accelerating through a tight corner (thus reducing grip available for cornering) or the road surface had very little traction, you had 2 wheel drive and had PSM off. On dry flat smooth warm tarmac in a straight line with PSM on I think it's practically impossible to lose control of a 997 (especially a sure footed 4wd one) when accelerating from 5 to 70mph unless a tire blew out or you hit something (then it's more to do with velocity than acceleration).
