997 gen 2 wet carpet

my 997 gen2 targa 4s has wet carpet under the rear nearside seat pad. The side carpets around this area our dry.
Does anyone have any ideas where to look for where the water has come from?
 
Check the drain plugs around the bulkhead area are not blocked. VW/Audi cars are famous for this, then the water level rises until it gets into the fan intake.
 
I had similar issue on my Turbo coupe. It was the rear quarter window seals; every time I washed the car a little water found its way in. Most noticeable under the rear seat pad although could also be felt under the carpet behind the passenger seat. Need to get your hand below the really thick foam underlay and see if it’s wet there too.
