997 3.6 2008 electric problem

Hi Ive got a 2008 low miles (16500) 3.6 911.
Yesterday my sat nav and radio went on the blink whilst driving.
the following day I tried to start and the starter motor (I think) made a loud clicking noise for 5 seconds so I stopped trying to start the engine and turned the key off. Upon doing this the drivers window went down in short bursts and is still down now !.. I removed the key from the ignition and noticed that the lights on the dashboard ie outside temp and the mileage was still lit up. I have now disconnected the battery (didnt want to run it down) and the car is now dead !.. the battery was a new one a year ago and I normally have it on trickle charge .. Any Suggestions ?

Thanks Richard

I'd second what Chris has said Richard. First check the battery earth strap connection and then if it looks OK get the battery checked out. Although it's relatively new and you have it on trickle charge, perhaps a cell is failing.
