997.2 - Best Bose Apple Car Play units

Hi,
I have a 997.2 Carrera 4S with PCM 3.0 and BOSE.

I’d like a new unit (such as kenwood/pioneer etc) which can be installed simply and be fully compatible with the Porsche BOSE system, microphone and allow for Satellite Navigation please?

I look forward to good recommendations.

You likely will struggle for FULL Bose. Simply , the adapters convert analog to digital signal, and pretty much all of the affordable ones only do left and right, not front and rear. The fader and subwoofer controls come from the head unit, so without that, the amp just does its default.

Steering wheel controls can be done with the right adapter. (Look at incartec.co.uk for what’s available)

Built in mics could in theory be made to work but they terminate in a block connector and I haven’t seen anything that allows them to be connected to a replacement head unit.

The AliExpress units have built in canbus adapters. Steering wheel controls work out of the box with them

Any option right now appears to be a compromise - you will lose something and something else won’t work like you want it to and there will be adopters and connectors and extra bits.

Rumour has it that Porsche PCCM+ is coming for 9x7.2 some time this year. Of course. That won’t be cheap but hopefully it’s a step up from the .1 version (wireless CarPlay or at least rear usb presentation) would be a minimum for me to consider spending the money.
