I'm interested to hear of other people's experience of the reliability of the hydraulic rear spoiler fitted to the 996 turbo. I had a new one fitted in 2015 which lasted from new ( 2001 ) but the replacement is now intermittently failing after 3 years and 15000 miles. It cost me around £1400 to buy and have fitted so that's nearly £500 per year so far which I think is a little unreasonable for a spoiler. Have other members experienced spoiler problems after such a short period of time or have I just been unlucky?
I have written to Porsche who appear to be reluctant to replace the unit because it was fitted by an independent specialist rather than an OPC and would welcome any advice for how to proceed - is this usual behaviour for Porsche and are they unlikely to help or might they consider replacing it if I escalate the matter within their organization?
Any input and suggestions are welcome[]
