As I'm racking up the miles in my 996TT, I'm thinking of changing my insurance to low milage and just using the car weekends and the odd blast to work.

Can anyone let me know what sort of insurance rates I could expect/negotiate pls? I have a clean licence (amazingly)and I am 40+.

Appreciate your help!

Thanks

Paul

Try Academy (Advertises in Porsche Post) they have been excellent. At present I do about 1000 month, when I told them they advised there is no mileage limit on group 20 so no increase in premium. I saved about £150 when first insuring through them a couple of years ago (and it was the same insurer!) I have been unable to get a better quote elsewhere (and my wifes Works Cooper S is now with them as well).

Ann Manning for me too!
996TT, Herts postcode, aged 42, approx £1,100 including KW v3 suspension and track days

Why? Just use the car. That's why you bought it I'd bet. Never understand the mentality behind I've bought this fantastic piece of machinery that puts a huge smile on my face but oh no.....the little numbers that light up on the dashboard are getting higher.....better stop using it quickly[&o]

80k miles on mine now and as mileage is completely unimportant now I get to enjoy it every second I can......

Go on....try it.....its really quite fun[;)]
