996 Key Fob/Seat Memory

I have a bit of an anomaly whereby despite saving my seat position to memory with the key I use, when I unlock the door using the key remote the seat automatically moves all the way back until I either press the remote button again or press one if the seat adjust buttons. I can use the memory button to return it to the correct location.

My other spare key has a different problem in that the remote button dimply doesn’t work anymore.

Any ideas please?
 
Memory buttons 1 and 2 are completely independent of the key memories. Are you setting the key memory with the ignition on, then pressing and holding the M button while pressing the key button?
