996 GT2 - Reg. GT02YEP

Hi All,

My first ever post, so here it goes.

I've just purchased the above GT2 , drove it back from the North last night, it didn't miss a beat - thankfully!

By any chance is there anyone on here who knows of the car, past owners, history, etc - would be appreciated.

Also, where in the Chiltern area could service it (know their stuff) (all suggestions would be greatly accepted) ?

Also, ayone here with a 996 GT2, would like to link up over a coffee (beer), maybe at a meet.

Welcome John! RPM Technik at Long Marston are closer, and probably a little cheaper. From what I have been told, JZM prices are on par with Porsche Centres.

Another possibility good to have two good outfits.
Only used JZM for GT3s can't fault them.
I have also used Steve Winter at Jaz in St Albans for a service on my R also very good I found the service a reasonable price.
So your area you have a good choice of 3

Hi John,

Just to add that both JZM and RPM Technik are very much GT specialists for sales and servicing. I’ve visited both recently with the Club and their showrooms have been chock-full of very expensive GT cars! Their labour charges and parts cost reflect this expertise [and well-heeled owners?], although the labour charges are lower than the Porsche dealerships [they only use official Porsche parts]. Jaz Porsche is an established, reliable and well-respected Porsche Independent who should be more than capable of looking after your car at reasonable cost.

If you can get along to a local Club monthly meeting I’m sure that there will be owners there who can give you some first-hand advice and recommendations.

Congratulations John, 996 GT2s are very special and fantastic cars. I've had mine for 12 years and was supposed to sell it when the McLaren arrived but so glad I didn't; the McLaren didn't last long! For servicing near you I'd suggest RPM.

Love the little 996, ours is just the Carrera but great to drive in a sort of go karty way.

Too far away for any useful directions but we get good service from an indy in Coggeshall.
