996 Forum Gallery

Here's mine, freshly spruced up as it's used as a near-daily driver in all weathers and conditions. Just gone through 70k miles (40k of which are mine in the last 6 years). Not bad for an 18 year old car!

I went to a cars n coffee meet when I was up North last weekend and despite there being a lot of new(er) Porsches there, I did get a comment regarding how pretty the narrow bodied 996 is.

@Printer93 - Spiegelei on IG correct? Think I follow you. How were String Theory for the suspension setup, was it a decent price as well? Don't they have a place at C&M as well?

Hi James,

Yes that is my Instagram page & thanks for the follow, it always astounds me the love for the 996 on that platform...

I had a great experience with Ben at String Theory Garage. He also owns and regularly tracks his 996 turbo. He used to be at the back of Caffeine & Machine but has moved in to larger premises in Stratford upon Avon. I found his pricing to be very reasonable (circa £2k) for my set up inclusive of parts & labour. Ben was also keen to understand what I wanted out of the car before recommending the work and costs. I understand Centre Gravity to be considered the best and they were very good when I spoke to them but they had a long lead time when I wanted work doing which is why I started speaking with Ben at String Theory.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

Yes, it's good to see the 996 getting the love it deserves and there's a lot of good IG content out there pushing it! I'll look into String Theory as I've got a few little tweaks and fettles that I want to get done and suspension/ride is one of them (not that it's bad as it is) but I'm conscious that the car isn't getting any younger :)

Thanks,

JK

New member and picked up my first Porsche last month, a late 2002 996 Turbo in Arctic Silver with sports seats and a short shift manual box. It's on just over 54k with a great history and drives very well.

Yes, that's correct!

Excellent location! I grew up near there so whenever I'm back "oop north" I try and get out for some Peak District drives - some great roads around there.

Yes, the roads are fantastic in the Peaks. Had a little blast out with a couple of mates the other Saturday morning before there was too much traffic out. Surprised how mine held its own against newer, more powerful cars.

Took this Monday evening which turned out pretty well

Very nice. Best colour and I like those wheels. What are they and are they 18" or 19" as I have been thinking about changing mine?

Just purchased this immaculate 2002 C4S. 91k. The colour caught my attention...different! Boxster 987 in PX ripped of course [:(] but this is a keeper.[attachment=b06a49c0-6832-4566...1_infinity (2).jpg]

Lovely colour...is it original? I'm toying with wrapping mine over the silver base...I did the same with my vans and looked stunning with the right artwork.

Yes, original. Havent had time to track the actual colour down yet but will post when i get round to looking it up. V5 says "Red" very helpful !

Thanks for feedback.

Cheers....
