Hi All

Im new to PCGB and ive had my 992 c2 manuall for 2 years and its been fine......until this weekend when out of the blue the wipers just stopped working, and today it would not lock on the key fob and so i had to do it manually. No warnings lights and everything else seems to work, any ideas? Thanks.

Remember that manual unlocking requirement occurs after several days of being locked anyway (battery saving) and could be unconnected. Worth checking fuses for wipers but I have had stalk switch failures in the past.

Hi All
I dont think its the fuses as they work sometimers and then stop working? The battery is pretty new and it unlocked on the key this morning and then failed to lock when i parked up. Its all v odd, its charging fine and the volts are droppoing any more than normal. Thanks for the help, think ill have to take it to my porsche guy.

If the battery's new i'd bung it on charge for a couple of days, they sometimes lose a bit of voltage in stock and these cars are sensitive to low voltage.

One time i started mine and drove 10 miles and it wouldn't start again, got a jump to get home again and put it on charge and it was fine; had enough juice to turn over but couldn't quite make a spark as well.

Did you get sorted?
One possibility is the connection at the bottom of the ignition switch as this can give random electrical faults it is claimed. Its a cheap Audi part that you can get from a Factors (Or from Porsche) search this part number 4A0-905-849B but there are two types dependant on the year. They are easy to fit its just access is the hard bit (Upside down in the footwell) If its a CAB just check there is no water damage under the passanger seat from the roof drains being blocked as there is an ECU under the seat and it doesnt like water. (Note to self clean my drains again) Let us know if you fixed it Good luck Ian
