996.... 3.4 v 3.6 (300/320 hp)

I'm now looking for a 3.6 996 Coupe to fill the gap until the 997 is available, and I currently have a 2003 996 C4 Cab on loan.
In my opinion, the 3.6 'facelift' model is much improved. There is no one thing, just a general feeling that the factory have been through it with a fine tooth comb to make it a better car. Certainly the engine note, particularly on start up, is raunchier.
Of course this is reflected in prices. Used 3.4s are are better value, most spanning the £30-42k range, whereas 'facelift' cars are in the £42-52k range.

In June 2003, I part exchanged my 2001 996 Coupe (3.4 / 320 bhp / Tiptronic) for a 2003 996 Cab (3.6 / 320 bhp / Manual).
Main differences:
- More torque,
- Better sound from the exhaust pipes!!!
- Gloves box included
The 3.4 was great, the 3.6 is fantastic!!!
Last but not least, the 3.6 doesn't look anymore like a Boxster, and with Liptronic Lights the front end is great.
By the way, on my Cab I've got the Sport Chassis: money well spent.
Hope it'll help.
Thanks!
Fab
