981 Head Unit Options

Hi all,

I have a 2013 981 with the standard head unit without Nav and DAB etc. It simply has Aux, Phone and FM radio, I would like it to be all singing and dancing!
The car is still under warranty until June 2019, I guess I am wondering what options are available? As far as I know I have 1 or maybe 2 options:
  1. Remove existing OEM head unit and replace with a new double din with sat nav and apple car play such as Pioneer/Alpine (would you expect this to have any detrimental effect on my warranty?).
  2. Swap existing unit for a more advanced OEM unit with Sat Nav and DAB.
Has anyone gone down either route with their vehicle? And if so can you offer any advice?

Hi Duncs04,

Yes if you remove the OEM stuff and replace with aftermarket you will definitely invalidate your warranty I made this mistake, your option 2 s the best one.

If you see your OPC ensure they are acutely aware you have a live warranty and anything they do is covered and does not affect the policy ,no idea how much PCM 3.0 With NAV and BOSE Surround is but I expect it not to be cheap.
