968 versus 964

Very tempting looking yellow 968 CS in this months 911 World.

M030 AND air con ... that has to be unusual.

Air-con does not float my boat. I'm always kind of intruiged when people specify air-con on stripped out race cars.

Imagine if you will...

"1.5hrs into the race around Monaco in the summer, Michael Schumacher (feeling kinda-warm) reaches for the (*) button on the dashboard of the Ferrari ..." [;)][:)]

I will probably be publicly flogged for this, but don't see the reason, and never worry about melting in the car !

Until Saturday 9th of August this year I might have agreed with you.

The second hottest day ever recorded, and I got stuck for an hour on the M25 at 35c ... engine on, black leather seats, and no air-con. I actually thought I was going to faint!

Boy do I wish my 968 had air-con!

oops... Of course I know it;s not always good to have no air-con, but I just watched Star Wars Attack of the Clones, and one scene shows loads of people in the middle of the tunisian desert wearing sweaters (or at least, it looked like it !)

Are we turning into softies ? [;)]

Air-con = more alert = safer.

Try it, you may like it.

Are we turning into softies ?

Yes, I just couldn't stand the idea of using a starting handle any more, so I bought a porker - so much easier to just turn a key, don't you know !

Progress, who needs it ? What next, no horses ?

I just stepped out of a EMEA directorship of the worlds largest Air-conditioning company....so have a certain perspective on how much "con" there is in Air-con, but thanks for the lesson John [;)]

BTW - I hear Auto-express has a great feature this week on the top 10 "whatevers" in the Automotive world. One section is the top 10 conspiracy theories, and they mentioned that at a certain show in Paris (forget the year) it was rumoured that a Nuclear power car was on display !

wow...

WRT to progrss, my mind wanders to Flux Capacitors, Delorean Cars and matters of this ilk

Why didn't the Stainless Steel car catch on ?

Why didn't the Stainless Steel car catch on ?

Could it have been because it was an overpriced, poorly made, indifferent driving chunk of metal made by a drug dealing, swindling, shyster?

Just a theory!

PS Mind you, I still have a brochure!
