I have now multi piece molds for these mirrors. Plan is to fabricate CF version for son's project. Since he's a poor student, some parts must be fabricated ourselves [:(]
new 968 handles we managed to buy from Alasdair.

FTO mirrors are not that dissimilar to tear drop mirrors already.

I've bought a pair of MX5 mirrors to see if they can be adapted so I will let you know the outcome in due course. I also happen to have a pair of FTO mirrors knocking around because I am breaking an FTO. They are similar I agree, but I think the Mazda ones will be a closer match looks wise.

It is real time consuming to fabricate these mirrors. It requires 5 molds to fabricate them. Then you have to laminate pieces together. Vacuum sacking might help a pit, but can't tell for sure; have to test it first.

The best alternative is the standard mirror - it works so much better as a mirror [:D]
