Have you ordered these? I did and the quality is poor at best. The welds look like I did them with my arc welder whilst full of stella and they don't sit flat against the car body when you bolt them up. Going to put the standard mounts back on and re-learn the mantra 'you get what you pay for'.

Got mine from Hartech and they were genuine Porsche parts, same as shown in the picture on the ebay link.

Hartech advised me their 968 caster mounts were made for them, look fine to me.

Definitely the case, I have genuine ones on the S2 bought from an OPC a few years back and Hartech ones on the 968. The Hartech ones look the same except the rubber is complete all the way round whereas the genuine ones use what looks like 4? slips of rubber with noticeable gaps in between the rubber. The rubber feels harder on the genuine ones to me, otherwise not much in it and both are a million times better then worn out 944 bushes.

What is better to do: Poly bush existing mounts or replace with 968 castors? I have a full front poly bush kit and wasn't sure what was better

I have no idea, but the benefits of the 968 mounts are; 1) Will not effect your insurance as this is the replacement part Porsche has supplied for many years 2) Is legal for all racing, especially PCGB Championship where the bushes are supposed to be standard Porsche spec.

3) Improves steering feel and turn-in dramatically - much more than I thought possible, and makes it one of the best (if not THE best) £100 I have spent on the car. Oli.

£100?? I'm sure mine were about £26 each?

I bought the Porsche ones from Max at Frazerpart, and they were (I think) £40 each, plus a bit of P&P. So, yes, about £100. Perhaps a little bit less. I understand that the Hartech ones are cheaper, in which case all the more reason to buy some … Oli.

Insurance doesnt matter for me as car is modified anyway. It is only a track car so wont be raced.

Surely if you've already got the poly bush kit then do this AND the rear castor mounts. The updated mounts are a complete swap for the original ones so the poly bush kit won't apply to them.

uumm just bought 2 of these from my OPC with a bit of discount -- price came to £132.40 all inc. (part No 951 341 023 01) that does seems expensive relative to the above! NB at risk of being flamed by the mods, just found the link to the Hartech part here: [link=http://www.w]www.[/link][link=http://hartech.org/parts.html]hartech.org/parts.html[/link]

Hartech ones fitted to the Turbo S look like a decent bit of kit, car seems to turn in better.

Are the 968 castor mounts listed as '944 / 968 front wishbone rear bush' on the Hartech website cos I cant find them listed otherwise... EDD

Eldavo, The poly bush kit replaces the rubber from the rear wishbone mount with polyurethane, if I replace this with a 968 castor mount then I will have rubber instead of polyurethane. Are you saying that the 968 rubber one is better than a poly bushed 944 one?
