964RS Hints & Tips

Heres a tip: Don't just polish your RS and put it back in the garage. Take it to a track, drive it as hard as you can...then put it back in the garage till next time[:D]
 
Here's another tip. If you own a garage, always wash the car before you put it away.

Your trackday disc cracks will just disappear !

Engine cover strut replacement

For the lazy ones (or time efficient [;)]), order just one heavy duty strut and only replace the one on the right, behind the airbox.
This heavy duty strut is for the turbo, to take the weight of the teatray spoiler.

You could even remove the one from the other side, to save weight !! [:D]

earth strap on exhaust housing o2 sensor
Replacing coils, and sorting out coil earth points
Denso iridium tough plugs
getting that guy in the cotswolds to do your tappets for £100
cup pipe to replace back box
cleaning battery earth
k&n cone filter attached to 90 deg to catch cold air
gearbox - Silkolene SILKTRAN SYN 5 75W-90
engine Silkolene PRO S 10W-50 (you can drive it like a idiot endlessly on pro s)

learning to enjoy the oil leaks - the engine is fine and a £8k rebuild will make it go 0 faster

Then drive it like an idiot, and keep it dirty
 
Not sure replacing coils, fitting Denso Kryptonite plugs, fitting a cup pipe, K&N filters and Silkolene oils cost £0? [;)][:D]

So, who's this 'guy in the Cotswolds' who does tappets for £100?
 
PA2000 Alarm Immobilizer Handset:

The rubber buttons on one of my keyfobs had deteriorated, I think from coming into contact with oil (or polish [;)] ...beat you to it!).
The system was supplied in UK by Hamilton & Palmer in Sevenoaks, Kent. Tel: 01732 760022. Speak to margaret Heather.

They have a refurb kit for £15 inc P&P which contains new casing, rubber buttons, new battery and screws. Delivered next day, dead easy to swap the innards from the old fob into the new. Should be good for another 20 years.

Yes I had the same thing, same solution, aren't Porsche's fab !

I think the buttons just sag with age ... [;)]
 
Intermittent power loss:

Remedy: check the Air Flow meter wiring has been tied back as per the technical bulletin. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/2947343-post4.html
