All,
Many thanks to Des and other RS types that I met last week at Oulton (John Liles, Colin Belton etc.).

Just a quick reminder that I am STILL looking for a very nice RSL, top money for the right car, original panels, don't want Guards or Black (been there done that) but otherwise flexible on colour.

Please call me on 07767 384 237 if you have (or know of) a car for sale,
Cheers (and thanks),
Kevin.

On the search for a Virgin, Thomas has a Virgin Cup Car in Rubystone think it's about £65,000 then what do you do with it, treat it gently keep it locked away like Lee (IS yours a Virgin Lee[;)])....or pay commenserate money with no downside, I think you have an impossible task unless you want to part with 100,000 Euro then not enjoy it....

Mine's a virgin Desmond with just 19k. How much is a Virgin worth at our time of life. Even finished in a virgin colour.

I've just been through some old posts looking for pics of Lee's car and I LIKE white RSs[:D]

I would go as high as low thirties......mind you I am from Yorkshire (short arms and long pockets)

hohohoho......I can feel a trip to Germany coming on.....or should I just cop out and buy a GT3? (braces for flames)

Kevin, try low - mid forties for avery nice virginesque (there always be a story), I valued Lee's car five years ago at £35K for insurance he seemed a little surprised it is nice, now I would put retail from a specialist circa £48K private sale £43K-£48K if you can get it off him.......[;)]

Sorry guys my attempt at wry humour obviously went awry[8|]

I am braced for the cost of entry........there are decent low mileage cars out there for £36-38k but given I am after something special I will probably need to pay more.

I now have two people chasing my C2 at £18k so that will go some way to easing the financial pain.

Here's a reminder of how different a std C2 looks to an RS....

forgot the piccie....

Nice pic, don't set your sights too high otherwise you will wait for along time and pay £££££....you obviously like the track so buy a semi-Virgin not too bashed but presentable and straight and THEN enjoy..... very little downside if you kiss the Armco unlike a pure Virgin....sorry to say Kevin, but have this conversatation again and again with new buyers....your money.....would be sad to see it a another Garage Queen....

I´m with you Des, would be sad to see another garage queen....

RSs are made for drivers with ambitions, why having heart attacks by throwing a virgin into the graveltrap? Almost all of the RSs have had their contacts with "track life", a well maintained car would be a good choice. It´ll be worth the price and the owner won´t loose money and will win fun, a lot of fun....

Quote from W.R. about a Cup Car deep in the gravel trap: " A Porsche can stand that." And now for you, Des: (Original W. R. Bavarian version) " Ein Porsche hoit des aus." In standard German: "Ein Porsche hält das aus."

So, our toys were made for being raced or at least for track use. In fact, they can stand that. A friend of mine has got an RS with more than 30,000 race km, something like 18,600 race mls. That thing is still going strong!

A real good car, ready for track, will cost about 50´ EURO in Germany, probably will be more in summer. Maybe you´ll get one for 45´, but I doubt it or you get a compromise in qualitiy.

Check http://www.elferpool.de/cargallery/ for more offers, no problem to spent 60´ EURO.

Regards,

Hacki

Jah der Leichtbau einen grossen wagenen mit der beachmeisteren technique, ver sprung durch beacheineneinenien......[;)]

It's so true what you guys are saying. I would enjoy my car a lot more if it was not a Virgin and banished to the garage.

Although it's been on track a few times, I'm not one to hang around, always in the back of my mind is the chance I might have an off. I nearly bought an additional one a year ago just to go tracking....How bonkers is that. I also bought a CSL to go tracking and found that also to be too nice an example with super low miles and owners etc.(Now becoming collectable) What's the chances of me tracking the GT3RS?

Des...You remember the thread, "Track it or garage" Sparked a lot of comments.

Kasbridge ...go buy a nice honest useable car

Yes agree Lee buy a car you can use properly & not have to worry about damaging a virgin car. I will get you out on the track in the RS & uncle too!!

Great advice guys, thanks - any car I buy will definitely be spending plenty of time on track.

At the moment it would be great to have some cars to look at[:D]

Anyone out there wavering, pls call me on 07767 384 237, the money is burning a hole in my pocket!

Cheers,
Kevin.

Kevin, don't buy a Kettlewagenenroutemeister out of pure desparation...I know you have been sniffing round.the GT3s...guess the black car I mentioned, the guy has changed his mind....you have to be realisitic accept a semi-virgin, only been banged a bit and pay appropriatly, these cars are shooting up at the moment, with dealers trying to buy back....you can still join us at Spa and have the weekend of your life with your clothes on (or off come to that).....saw Pirate Pete's car last night bought for about 35K from GT Classics, did you miss this one?

I seriously really feel for you, us lucky guys.... just think if the Leichtbau was not out in the garage....instant miserry would set in....Lee might sell you his for £********K[;)]

So hang on in there and resist the kettlewagengrossennenroutenmeisteren.......

Someone please sell him a car...[:(]

You got my number..
