i have just been offered a 1987 944s with 400k miles and reciepts adding up to 65 K.

Going to look at it on sunday along with an 84 guards red and a brown 924.

Is 400K a record for a 944?

Probably! So far my S2 has only covered 220k ish miles... and for the last 65k ish miles it has cost £16k... including fuel! How-ever... since I don't cost my labour, and many of the parts have been sourced cheap from here and eBay, the bills don't seem that far out really.

There was a very high mileage white Turbo featured in 911&PW a few years back, IIRC that was a similar mileage back then and still in daily use [:D]

That turbo had done over 360,000 miles, and all on the original engine, gearbox, turbo and I think even the exhaust! And the last 180,000 miles was completed after engine modifications that boosted the power!
