944S Help Needed

Hi All,

Is there anyone near the kettering/corby/stamford area that has a porsche 944S that will allow me to look at the engine bay. The reason i ask is I need to look at the vacuum pipes and see what is missing or incorrectly routed on mine. Elliot from porkaparts suggested I post here.

Thanks

Post me a pic of your engine bay. I may be able to help by sight. Basicly there isn't a hard and fast rule as long as everything is connected, T pieced up and all makes it's way back to the manifold. Obviously the brake servo and ISV have there own dedicated pipes but they are obvious to make out. Failing that I suppose I could come take a look sometime.

I no longer have mine but I do have a couple of old pics.

Hope it helps :)

Hi Rob,

I will take some pictures tomorrow and post up, I think I am getting there following lots of different drawings. The good thing is I have my inlet manifold off so pictures should be ok to follow i will also highlight the lines how I have them to make it easier to see.

Thanks

Gavin

Thanks Andy, the only other thing I can think of if there is a meet near us where I may be able to get a look then.

Bound to be one at Silverstone on Saturday. Even if there isn't it's a good day out. [:)]

If you do get to Silverstone on Saturday, I think a quorum of us could have a check.
I'll be at Uppingham Car Show on the 11 Sept, and would have a look, although I've not had a twin cam.

I'll grab some pictures of mine at the weekend and draw an overlay of the hoses.

Have a fair idea where most of them go as I had to take the intake manifold off on Monday.

Hi All,

I have followed a few diagrams that Rob posted and i have found and think I have the vacuum lines correct ready for manifold. I think the confusion was caused by a pipe on the heater control valve by the distributor, it had a pipe that went underneath the manifold and had a y connector but went nowhere.

I have since found two pipe that comes out from the firewall at the back of the engine one goes to Vacuum Resevoir that also t's to a blue valve on the brake booster. The other should go straight to this heater control valve which is by the distributor.
these are the links to the two pictures I have used. Do you think I am on the right track

Heater control
Air/Fuel

I suppose I will only know when i get manifold back on.

Thanks

Gavin
