944S Fuel light

What I had worked out is whilst I was getting 24-25 MPG, if I drive a lot more gingerly (not that I was spanking the car everywhere) then I've almost eeked 26 MPG out of the old gal so it's not made much difference with driving style.

hmmm - our new (to us) 944 2.7 ran about 200 yards with the light on before coughing and spluttering to a halt . Perhaps time to replace the sender or at least take it out and overhaul it. And these days the RAC don't even carry the odd full can like they used to - they take you to a petrol station, wait while you buy a can and fill it up, then take you back to your car.

(that's if my memory serves me right and the tanks are 80 litres on S2 and turbo?)
That's what I understand as well, but I have never managed to get more than about 62 litres in my S2.

Isn't that more to do with how hard it is to prise open your wallet? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Sorry Mr Slippers, couldn't resist. I filled up the S2 at the weekend after the light had been on for 20 miles and managed 72 litres at a cost of £101.50 []

I suspect my fuel light comes on earlier than some then; I rarely spend more than about £90 on a 'fill-up' (even in these days of stupidly expensive fuel).

The last time I filled mine after the light had been on for a little while (around 15 miles) I managed to get 76L in costing over £110 but I usually fill up when half full and get just over 40L, so mine probably indicates at around 15L which is what I think it says in the handbook but not certain.
