Just out of interest who amongst will there this coming Sunday ?

I will be there, along with my better half co-driving/navigating. [:)]

We will be there too-as long as my '44 is back from the paintshop.....
If not, will come in the 924......[;)]

If mine is back from RPM then I shall be there too. estimated completion is Friday morning so I am cutting it fine! My navigator has dropped out though so I may need to just follow someone else the whole way, hopefully there will be enough Porkers around so that I don't get too lost

We'll be there, wife navigating as usual!!

BTW, check out Mike's Curborough photos and video...mine's the white car, the only 944 on the track that day.

Beaky is going following today's result.

And me - daughter for navigator this year. My "Start No" is 53. Hopefully be there for 10.00.

Anybody from or going by Leicester fancy driving down together?

Graham - there were several 944s there, including 2 cabs, but only yours on the track any ideas why?

Plus a couple of 924s, including Vitesse, love the angle it leans at!

Hi Mike
No idea why the 944 cabs weren't on the track...one had the plastic fog lamp covers, and I'd have liked to speak to the owner. Didn't seem to be about.

I was chatting to the owner of the black 924S...he'd completely re bushed the suspension then done the geometry, and you could tell. It looked fantastic on the corners, and I think he was carrying more speed through the second hairpin...claimed he'd seen 90 mph on the straight, I'd struggled to exceed 80 before hitting the brakes!!

Blimey! That's on the doorhandles isn't it?!! The red one is awaiting a new rear ARB I recall...not fitted as standard then?

Can't make the revised date this year as I had a long standing diving trip already booked (missing the Tipec show at Hatton too because of it - grrrr [] )

Mine has just screwed its FPR!

Its the same as the S2 on this car - Porscheshop are the only ones listing it in this country at £125 - most are half that.

Only car I can find sharing it are the Audi 4.2 V8 - so no cheaper there

Any suggestions?

Interesting John, Peter Morgan says they were optional till 81 , but as all UK cars were Lux factory spec maybe SENd were part of that spec?

I have not seen a car after early 1977 that didn't have a front arb. The Autocar test car in early 77 was to lux spec and is described as having the "optional" arb. My suspicion is that it was standardised soon after.
The early cars (pre 1981) had a different and not as obvious arb setup as later cars. The arb itself was mounted out of sight up on the front crossmember and used drop links to connect to the early (different) wishbones.
