944s 16v radiator needed - update

I'm hoping someone has a good radiator they want to sell. Mines now got a hole in the bottom fin thanks to a fan fixing bolt which was too long[] I didn't put it in, my local garage did but they put it in at an angle, it came loose, I fitted it in the correct position, didn't realise it was too long and bingo one leaking ladiator

A local radiator repair company reckon they can't fix it , so now looking for a 2nd hand replacement.

I'm negotiating with them to pay for it, but for the time being I just need to get it sorted

If anyone can helpI'd be most grateful.

Norm - I'm sure one of the regular breakers will have one. Try Sulzeruk or Elliott on here first, or look in the back of a Porsche mag and there are lots of potential sources. Best of luck

I think all the oval dash radiators will fit, so shouldn't be too much difficult, but as Craig says have a chat to one of the breakers.

Quick update, got the radiator sorted today, the garage agreed to pay for a s/hand one, got one off ebay, works fine, took it out for a quick blast after bleeding to check it which led to a unexpected `brown trouser' moment. No problems with the rad, but as I was coming out of a roundabout onto a clear straight road, I decided to give it a quick blast, as I took my foot off the throttle about 100yds from a set of traffic lights to change down, the accelerator pedal didn't return and the revs shot up to about 5000 as I took it out of gear !!!!!!! I managed to flick the pedal and get it down to tickover. I then drove the last mile very gently. I thought that maybe as the car had been standing for about 3 weeks while I sorted out the radiator the throttle linkage had got sticky, but on checking under the bonnet all was ok, I then squeezed into the footwell and discovered there appeared to be a pedal return spring missing. I found a suitable spring in the shed and it now seems ok again, but it would be nice to have the proper one, I haven't found the original anywhere in the drivers footwell and I'm mystified as to where it could have gone???????? ---- bit of a long shot but has anyone got a spare ? Check where the garage lifted the car. It's very common for people who don't know to jack it up on the four-post lift point at the front, and bow the floor causing the pedal to stick. If it is the spring then, as usual, a Porsche Centre is the best place to get a price before you try the breakers in the faqs. []

Cheers Paul, never thought about the bent floor thing, I'll check that out. They usually put it on a drive on ramp when they do anything, the last thing they did was the front ARB bushes so they may have jacked the car up. Norm
