Came across this on ebay.

I have nothing to do with the sale but thought I'd post here to see if people think the buy it now price is realistic?

It's the first time I've seen 19" wheels on a 944!!

I'm no originality geek but I believe the rarer cars (if this is indeed a turbo s) are better off un-molested, most of the things of this car could be reversed without too much bother, starting with the wheels, looks like he just picked the biggest and brightest ones out of a Halfords catalogue. No mention of sills, etc and at that price it will need to be very, very good.

'Zactly this. And even if it was very, very good I doubt it would be worth that much.

Chancer, and I suspect it will be for sale for a long time if the price doesn't come down sharpish.

Oli.

I've already spoken to the seller and it has a few things needing changed.

Wrong seats - 996 seats fitted
Wheels as mentioned are from Porscheshop and cost £1500 + Tyres!!!!
968 Wing Mirrors and door handles
Clear Rear lights and front indicators / side repeaters
He doesn't have the original airbox
Gear Lever!!
Wrong door Cards as it should have the 10 speaker cards
Back Bumper insert painted red

It is a Turbo S according to the VIL Sticker in the boot and on the service book and has a decent history (with 12 owners I think)

He won't accept anything under £10k (Buchanan Motors has offered him £3k [8|]

I considered it as you can get it back to standard but with the miles and the owners I feel that it needs to be a lot lower

I believe that this car was for sale March 2011 at Pro-9 car sales in Redditch for £5995!!!

Are you sure?

I believe a non-Silver Rose could have come without the 10 speaker sound system.

It was on the option code VIL he sent me so they have been removed at some point in its history?

Turbo S came with 10 speaker pack, exactly the same spec as Silverose apart from exterior colour and trim.

I am not sure you could possibly put a worse looking set of wheels on a 944. Get him to spec savers ASAP.

Given eporsch have a tidy looking original S on for £9k how do these people come up with these prices?!

There certainly was some latitude available as the other coloured cars seem to have had the option of fitting leather sports seats. M758s were stuck with the full electric option (which cost about the same as sports seats, but was nowhere near as good).

agree on the wheels but the eporsche one is pink/cloth interior which traditionally has always been cheaper than the non-pink ones and the later ones - which is why I struggle to believe a silver rose S will ever be worth much more than the later more desirable colours - condition being equal.

I have a client from work looking to sell a red 88 turbo S,all original with CS wheels and in nice tidy condition,he is based in Kent,PM me if anyone wants his number for a chat.

Finally got around to looking at this on fleabay. Got to be honest, I don't think the wheels look so bad - wouldn't be my choice and certainly wouldn't spend that much on wheel/tyre combo.

I bet the handling is 'interesting' on the 19" wheels. Notwithstanding the non-original elements, it certainly looks very tidy and smart (certainly a lot more so than my car......) Strange thats there no under bonnet picture though ?

Simon, all Turbo S cars are M758, there does seem to be more choice trim wise on the later customer specified colour cars, i personally prefer "comfort" seats though the Recaro Pole positions in my Turbo S are the best ever, it originaly came with black leather "Sports"
