I was out for a spin this morning and lost all drive coming out of a right hand turning off a main road. One driveshaft spins when you bring the clutch up. The spindle spins too so it's not the cv joint. Car is a 87 non m030 which I fitted with an LSD gearbox. Look like the spindle sheared or hub teeth has sheared. Anyone had any similar experience? Can I fit m030 hubs/spindles?

A couple of questions for you:
Is it definitely the spindle/ drive out through the rear bearing ?
Is there drive out of both sides of the gearbox ?
The fact that you've fitted an LSD gearbox to your car would indicate to me that perhaps something has gone amiss within the box.
If I remember correctly the rear axle parts for the Turbo's (S & standard) and S2 are all common, i.e. the spindles, bearings, rear aluminium trailing arms, rear calipers etc. The main difference is the width/ strength of the driveshafts and associated CV joints.
So my suggestion would be to get the car up in the air and check that there's drive coming out of both sides of the gearbox.

The spline in the Hub is like - unbreakable, but if you say the Outer CV assembly is turning, then I'm going to say the wheel must also be turning....but you have clearly said not.....(the outer CV Outer body is difficult to see in the cast rear arm)
Is/are the Hub and Outer CV known compatible, or has the LSD Box install introduced newly matched components?
Or has the new ECU produced 1100lb/ft from 1500rpm to 9600rpm and that the cause....

Tom, I'm not sure what part you guys term 'Spindle'. Which part in this pic do you think is broken? I had a somewhat similar thing happen to me where I went to do a U turn and the car just rolled to a stop and lost drive. Thought I'd somehow broken the gearbox but it turned out to be the bolts on the outer rh hub had backed out. Simple fix.

Tom, you can get a locking system for those bolts. Or some people drill and wire them. The locking system looks simple and easy. Possibly widely available. Pretty sure I bought mine from 'Ideola' on Rennlist. Might be worth the cheap investment.

Yeah I'll take a look, I've got two track days planned in March and April so theres a lot of chance for some to break loose again. One of the bolts sheared off which is a bit annoying, shouldn't be too bad to remove though.
