944 Turbo mileage per tank

Hi all, I know the point of owning a classic performance car is not fuel economy. There was a post on another forum from a user claiming a 400 mile tank range on their turbo. Mine gets more like 220miles with mixed, fairly sedate driving. I do suspect it's running a bit rich though emissions are well within acceptable ranges (measured by the garage).

What's the realistic range on these with 50/50 motorway/town driving? And, what are the fixes to improve fuel economy? The thread below mentioned changing the AFM.

There's an old thread on here with most users seeing 350+ miles per tank: https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/threads/944-turbo-tank-range.120422/

How much are you putting in to refill it? Many new owners don't realise that below the 'visible' gauge there is an additional sector that lights up when you are getting low, so if you are filling up before the 'light up section' your range will be reduced.

Thanks Tony, I'm filling when the light comes on.
