Hi all, I am just about to remove a low miles (107,000) 220 bhp running turbo engine from a car. I am able to offer all the parts to convert your non Turbo car to a turbo. Ideal if you have blown up your car or want a bit more power. I have available:
complete running engine and main engine loom with alternator, clutch, clutch cover and torque tube.
gearbox
full exhaust system
radiator with twin fans
all pipework to go with it.
This will bolt into any of the oval dash cars and should just plug in as there is the standard power takeoff plug for the main loom located on the bulkhead. The ECUs plug into the existing engine loom supplied with the engine. The gearbox and torque tube will fit straight in to your car. Ideal for a track car project.
PM me if interested
Alasdair

Best of luck selling it. Surely anyone contemplating this would do well to think about Turbo brakes and ARB's (particularly if coming from a Lux). Do you have those for sale as well?

Does the Turbo bits and bobs really just plug straight in? Interesting ... you learn something every day.

Oli.

Can't see why it wouldn't if its sold as a complete lump. Ppl tend to forget that the engine loom, ecu etc, is completely seperate to the cars loom.

On an S2 of course you already have a lot of turbo parts just not the best bit.

Yep , will just bolt in. I can confirm from experience that non turbo clocks work with the turbo. You just won't have a boost gauge.

ATE brakes in the lux are plenty good enough.

Direct bolt on. I suppose Alasdair can offer all necessary parts to make your 944 looks like a 951 as well.

It's just what factory did. After all all 951 are factory turboed 944's....
First 944 Turbo prototypes which were used as a pace cars on some german track series (like ADAC GT) were just 944 A models with turbostyle front bumper and turbo engine. They had old style dash board, n/a brakes etc.etc.
One of the five "turbos" built in 1983:

I suppose many parts and options were installed on test bench vechiles several years earlier when they become available on production models. Check out this Baur made prototype, which is imho much better looking, than a winning american made version. These pictures are from Frankfurt motor show in 1985. This car have ABS, Air Bags, new ET wheels etc.etc. All this in 1985 !
