944 Turbo 2.75” Downpipe

AAS Exhausts in Newcastle upon Tyne have made a test piece that they’re keeping alongside their jig.

I’m ordering one for me and one for 944Man - if anyone else wants one then feel free to call AAS and speak to Stuart directly 0191 2673718

Post up here if you’re interested as Stuart told me he would prefer to make a small batch to order rather than random one-offs.

Picked a couple of downpipes up yesterday plus my adapted crossover pipe for my Tial F46 wastegate.

A couple more were being boxed up for despatch to Australia!

So they’re jigged and built to order in about 3-4 weeks. £145 + shipping with a lifetime guarantee ??

Great price. Not sure why you're fitting an F46 though? Most of what I've read suggests small turbo and high boost suits the smaller F38 better.

Plans afoot. [;)]

From what I've read the T38 can't cope with big turbo high boost levels and fails, cracks etc... perhaps David is going for extreme boost levels''':):)

Final piece of the jigsaw, and ending of the spending?

You‘re so funny Paul [:D]

F46 was made for Porsche and one of the flanges bolts straight up so with no need for adaptor plates, etc.

[:D] If you're happy, that's all that matters. I still reckon a mildly tuned 3.0 would be nicer to drive overall. Unless my hand is forced though, I just can't be arsed to build it now. How's your block progressing?

Meant to call the machine shop all last week and just forgot as I’ve been mad busy at work.

Still half tempted to build a 3.0, but realistically I’ve got so many other things to do that I don’t have the time right now. Rebuild Current Engine, Decide what to do with Spare Engine, Rebuild Motorbike I stripped to the last nut and bolt, Order bathroom that’s being fitted in 3 weeks, redecorate 2 spare rooms, build a dressing room, etc. etc. (Might not be in order of importance, especially if you ask my wife).

blimey! sounds like my life.......just add maybe another 50 jobs on it like front extension, back extension , loft extension, playground for the kids, garage to build down garden , office down garden to build , driveway ect ect ?? no wonder the 944 gets neglected!
join the club mate , and the list goes on....... infact i wrote it down about a month ago as it was stressing me out , and wish i didn’t as it filled x2 A4 pages! and still have the pics to prove it ??

i did just get my head back from crack testing and re skimming at serdi uk though! so the 944 turbo could be getting put back together for next summer ?????

It was in my plans to build a 3.0 12 years ago when I bought the car. Collected nearly everything from other peoples abandoned 3.0 projects in the first few years, but couldn't find the early Ferrostan coated Mahle pistons that definitely worked.

Will you be wanting the 2.7 head, new set of Carrillo rods and the S2 crank/damper too? [:D]. I'd sleeve the block myself, but I don't like the thought of covering the windage ports.
