Did Porsche at any time fit or offer adjustable camber plates to any of the 944 varients? It's a long shot I know, but MSA regs have changed and I really hope Porsche did fit them at some stage in the life of the 944/68!

Not to any series production car that Im aware of. Perhaps in some Skunk Works special, although Im looking at a picture of three 937 GTS CSs now and they all have what appear to be conventional top mounts too...

I presume that this is a Speed specific alteration? Id be grateful if youd tell me the section & chapter number.

History......the front came from a Mk1 Golf, and the rear from a Beetle...[8|]

but it all evolved over time, not aware of adjustable camber plates as in top of strut location, can you get any camber adj at all on the hub/strut bolt assy, or is that a daft suggestion??[8|]

Simon, it's all on page 323 of the blue book, 11.7.1, 11.7.4 and 11.7.6. All the points are debatable and some clubs are more strict on interpritation than others. However due to my lovely camber plates I am either restricted to what I can compete in or I go into the class with 600hp + subarevo's and thats just pointless!

George, There is probably enough adjustment in at the base of the strut, but I would rather not have to change my to mounts if I can avoid it. Also need a non-adjustable strut brace as well now.

MSA rule, don't you just love em!!

11.7.6 means no rose joints, which is fair enough, but it was far clearer last year, with the old 11.7.1. Is it possible to get an definitive judgement rather than relying on different scrutes interpretations (which, I suspect, arent in keeping with the original rules intentions)?

Adjustable top mounts/spherical bearings are banned, (I asked why stroker kits in Evo's were still allowed as these actually change performance....no answer)

MSA not really understanding the implication of their own rules.....what a suprise.

Oh dear. Now the MSA will put far more effort into defending their decision than they did into considering the re-written the rules in the first place...

I did have an alternative that I was going to suggest. Theyre cheapish at US$250 and not adjustable, but unfortunately they use a spherical bearing which has also been prohibited...

Nick,

I need your top mounts even more now, infact by Friday lunch time but thats another story!!

Simon,

Please can you let me know about the mounts you know about, I maybe able to modify them.

Thanks

Peter

Occasionally available from ESS, but not listed that Ive seen for a couple of years. Unfortunately theyre now about one third dearer than they used to be, due to the poor exchange rate.

http://www.klaindustries.net/ Its framed so I cant link directly, but theyre easy to find.

The 968 Turbo RS had spherical bearing top mounts, I believe. As far as Im aware they werent adjustable though. I dont know whether this helps?
