944 sparking plugs

ORIGINAL: Veerzigzag

I should be working, of course...
Glad to see that it's not just me that takes frequent breaks away from boring stuff to visit this forum..
You, maybe, but not me.

(I take breaks from this forum to do boring stuff. [])

I realise a few people have NAs and mine is a turbo but there was a big debate on pelican parts (will find the link) that you shouldnt use anything other than single prong copper ideally a stage cooler than normal for turbos. Aparently some brands have a danger of shattering the ceramic case if wrongly applied. NGK seemed to be the preference but I'm now thinking of trying the Beru's

I seem to recall PSH on here had a problem with a ceramic insulator breaking on a plug in his turbo. He was talking about NGK plugs as well, although whether he was saying that it was an NGK that broke in this way, or he now uses NGK plugs as they don't break in this way I can't remember.

I'm a big fan of NGK. Had them on previous Golfs and in the 944. Cannot fault them. Only had the coppers. Not tried the iridiums or platinums.

I've heard so many horror stories about Bosch plugs, but none about NGK. Of course if they're run for more than around 10k miles, they aren't going to be as efficient. For what they cost they're a cheap service item and it makes sense to change them maybe every 3rd oil change.
