944 S2 Cab boot release

I thought I would repair my boot release mechanism, as it would not open with the key. I successfully mended the micro switch and then tried to reassemble the mechanism. Two days later and I still can't make it work. Has anyone got a picture of how it goes together? I have the manual but it does not cover the cab. It appears that the lip on the operating lever stops it from turning and I am not sure whether it goes between the cam and the switch lever or behind it. Either way it wont turn.
